A Guide To Our Lasts

J.FitzPatrick Line

TMG Last

The classically round shaped toe that the TMG last displays can take you wherever you want to go: from boardrooms to dinner to even the cinema.

Its subtle shape ensures an elegant look no matter what style of shoe it is made on. If you are a classic man, then our TMG last is the one that will suit your needs best.

The TMG is your classic medium fitting last.

JKF Last

Our classic, pointed last is not to be confused with an over elongated last that makes your feet look 2 sizes bigger. Instead it maintains the elegant nature and shape of the TMG last by simply extending the toe in the most subtle of contemporary fashions.

Its purpose is to create sleekness yet stay far from ostentatiousness. If you like the look of a slim silhouette in both shoes and attire, the JKF last will be just right for you.

In terms of fit, while could be deceiving with the pointed end, the JKF last is actually quite forgiving in the forefoot and does not actually restrict in the toes.

This would be considered one of our medium fitting lasts, not too wide, not too narrow

Facts
  • Generous forefoot with relation to toe area
  • Voluminous instep
  • Pointed toe not great for those with very wide feet
  • Not overly elongated
  • Medium fit

LPB Last

The soft chisel last is the tame brother of the chisel. Its softer lines ensure a safer look and due to that fact can complement just about any style.

The LPB last is no exception and would look good with any suit. Pair it with your heavy English flannel or your lightweight Italian wool and find yourself in elegant style with every step.

Our chisel lasts are our most generous in fit, so if you have a broad foot, these will work for you.

Facts
  • Very Generous forefoot
  • Voluminous instep
  • Labeled as UK E width equivalent, but fits between a E and F width
  • Elongated last
  • Generous all around fit

NGT Last

The NGT last is our smart round last that very much represents an elegant modern day classic look.

With a slender silhouette and elongated toe box, the NGT is the perfect last to wear with your sharp, no frills business suits.

Being one of our more refined lasts in terms of it, the NGT is certainly more suited for a narrow to medium width foot.

Facts
  • Narrower/shallower forefoot
  • Less voluminous instep but not a low instep
  • Not good for wide feet
  • Elongated last
  • Feels more generous on boots than does on shoe models
  • Hugging arch area
Keep the same size if you wear the below:

SEA Last

The SEA last is our pointed symmetrical last, very reminiscent of a many French and Italian style lasts of similar symmetrical cuts.

The pointed nose of the SEA last makes a very serious shape for wearing with your more business like attire. While not impossible to wear with jeans, we see it more of a dress shoe last to wear with your classic business suits, think navy 2 button SB or your classic double breasted suit.

Being another one of our more refined lasts in terms of it, the NGT is certainly more suited for a narrow to medium width foot.

Facts
  • Narrower/shallower forefoot
  • Less voluminous instep but not a low instep
  • Not good for wide feet
  • Elongated last
  • Hugging arch area

Keep the same size if you wear the below:

-- Allen Edmonds 5/65 last (Bearing in mind US/UK sizing of one different i.e US10 is a UK9)

SES Last

The SES last is our take on the bulbous round shaped toe that is common among the classic American or English shoe firms. Think the Americana longwing look or the classic British derby shoe. A very round toe, but without an overly wide toe box.
Its very round shape lends to a more casual look and will pair well with models more suited to denim use and/or cotton trousers. We do not so much see this as a last you would accompany with a smart suit but again, style is in the eye of the beholder.

The SES last has a classic medium fitting

Facts

  • Somewhat generous forefoot, being neither too wide, nor narrow by any means
  • Not as voluminous instep as our other models
  • Good for medium to broad feet
  • Non-Elongated last, very shaped to foot length/profile
  • A hugging forefoot

Keep the same size if you wear the below:

-- Most Crockett & Jones classic fitting lasts
-- Carmina lasts (exception Simpson)
-- Cheaney
-- Churchs
-- Most Benchgrade English brands
Silverdale

NJF Last

The NJF last is the boot version of our SES last. Like the SES it is our take on the bulbous round shaped toe that is common among the classic American or English shoe firms. Think along the lines of an Alden boot or the classic British brogue boot by Cheaney or Grenson. A very round toe, but without an overly wide toe box.

The SES last has a classic medium fitting

Facts
  • Relatively generous forefoot, being neither too wide, nor narrow by any means
  • Voluminous instep (unlike SES where we made it lower)
  • Good for medium to broad feet
  • Non-Elongated last, very shaped to foot length/profile

Keep the same size if you wear the below:

JF Line

Rainier Last

The Rainier last is our Smart Round last of the JF Line. It fits very true to size. The last is a touch elongated but classic in nature i.e. allowing one to keep his regular size without worrying for strange breakpoints. The instep is a medium fit. We recommend keeping your standard size with this last. Its fit is between our TMG and NGT lasts of the J.FitzPatrick Line in terms of length/width, with a lower instep (more standard) in comparison to those two.

Facts
  • Medium forefoot, being neither too wide, nor narrow by any means
  • Medium instep (not as generous as our J.FitzPatrick Line lasts)
  • Good for medium width feet (the Cle Elum derby is the exception whereby someone with a prominent foot can also fit that model in the Rainier last)
  • Slightly Elongated last, yet very shaped to foot length/profile

Keep the same size if you wear the below:

-- Most Crockett & Jones classic fitting lasts
-- Carmina lasts (exception Simpson)
-- Allen Edmonds classic fitting lasts (not the wide ones)
-- Most Benchgrade English brands

Saint Helens Last

The Saint Helens last is our Chisel last of the JF Line. It fits very true to size. The last is only a touch elongated but more classic in cut, more keeping to the contours of the foot. It is not as elongated as our J.FitzPatrick Line chisel lasts. The instep is a medium fit. We recommend keeping your standard size with this last. Based on the same heel-to-ball-of-foot proportions as the "Rainier" last, the Saint Helens is slightly more spacious and forgiving than the Rainier in the toebox, as a result of its chiseled shape. It has a lower instep (more standard) in comparison to the MGF and LPB.

Facts
  • Medium forefoot, being neither too wide, nor narrow by any means
  • Medium instep (not as generous as our J.FitzPatrick Line lasts)
  • Good for medium width feet
  • Slightly Elongated last, yet very shaped to foot length/profile

Keep the same size if you wear the below:

-- Most Crockett & Jones classic fitting lasts
-- Carmina lasts (exception Simpson)

Similar to the NJF last of the J.FitzPatrick line it is our take on the bulbous round shaped toe that is common among the classic American or English shoe firms. Think along the lines of an Alden boot or the classic British brogue boot by Cheaney or Grenson. A very round toe, but without an overly wide toe box.

The Baker last has a classic medium fitting
